Dropped my 2005 SE off with Flack (Mick) to get the the full set of front & back belts, tensioners, pulleys, water pump and oil pump replaced
Top guy, did & great job for me and also gave me a couple of pointers to some small jobs that I need to do.

Following all the good work done yesterday by Flack,,, today I removed and stripped down the auto box shift linkage bushing, which was partially seized... fixed that.
Next I removed and stripped out the lower steering column as the UJ was seized in one direction and tight in the other. So I got it all cleaned out in my ultrasonic cleaning tank, washed out all the crud from the UJ's. Pryed back the rubber O rings and cleaned everything out with brake cleaner, dried it all and gave it a good spray greasing, so it was all smooth again. Considering it's been on the car for 16 years once it was freed up and cleaned it was as good as new.
Bit of a job getting it off though
Just waiting for my turbo inter cooler hose to arrive now.2005 TDV6 SE Auto

Yesterday:
Did a 400 mile round trip, 8+ hours of driving.
D3 never missed a beat and will be doing similar tomorrow/weekend.
A new milestone mileage getting very close!

after not using it much since March last year.
Now reached a significant mileage. 8)

Spent a few hours with a £15 headlight restoration kit. Both headlights have been cloudy and oxidised since I brought the car. Niggled me ever since, so finally got round to having a go.
I’m quite please with the results..

Fitted a new Denso alternator and also carried out the secondary turbo drain hose mod whilst I had the starter motor cable undone (which is necessary to get the alternator out)

Moved it for the first time since being in isolation so the delivery driver could crane some materials onto my drive.......counting down the days until I can get out!
By the way....covid sucks!
