Replaced the old D3 windshield washer jets (heating worked only on one) with the brand new D4 versions.
Replaced the second row twin air vents, the old one piece had a non-working roller. I had gotten the replacement vent off a gentleman on this forum. Taking apart the central whole center console was surprisingly easy. Getting the only screw back to hold the rear fascia was but one of the minions, with her smaller hands, got it done.
It ain’t much but it’s honest work.

Fixed the driver’s side door exterior trim. Thought it would have been an easy job but no such luck.
I had “always” noticed that it was slightly loose at the far end but it had held in place so far. Since lockdown and all that there’s been some time to research how to fix it and today was the big day.
The previous owner, or a garage somewhere, must have also wanted to keep it in place. They just hadn’t read through how to fix it correctly. The LA501-014 TSB
https://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/us...chment.pdf says that one needs to replace 3 of the yellow clips with black ones. The previous repair had used some sikaflex instead.......... so had to scrape all that off first both from the trim and the door itself.

Also, the Advanced Factors KIT804, which includes a bunch of different clips, is really worth the money. No affiliation, a very happy customer.

Ordered some new rear arch rubber seals and turned up pretty quickly, finally got
Round to fitting them,
Bunged them in after a good flush out of the wheel arch and sill trim and treatments of mini rust patches on the arch itself which hadn’t been treated by previous owners, light coating of grease for good measure on the arch and stick them on, not easy to do it without linking them slightly and being Brit part I’m not expecting them to last too long so only time will tell.
I’ve also found a puncture on the NSF 🙄

Annoyingly terrible screeching from the hand brake this morning with the classic warning lights and not working message on the dash, thankfully I’ve got a warranty on it so will see why they come back with on Friday
In other news, Puncture repaired £14 all in but bunged them £20 as there good bunch of old boys where I go
Main intercooler boost hose turned up, easy enough to fit and my god what a difference in power level on the test run! Hose was taped up when I bought it and have only just got round to replacing it, wish I’d done it sooner!!

Sliding floor
Hi lee,
I have been looking into getting one of these sliding floors for my D3, will it fit with a dog / load guard in place and how much weight are they rated for as I would want to have my tool box on the leading edge.
Kind regards Dave.

Hi,
I made my own from a BMW one. Mine fits fine with the dog guard, except I had to make up some little tabs as the rods that attach to the tie points would stop the floor moving. I will get the floor and the tabs added to my car thread soon, but in simple terms, I would say yes.
Gary, you will need to do the same as me when you get yours.

In garage having its handbrake set up rebuilt
£918 as it stands currently (£500 ish of that is parts, ) as warranty company covers normal handbrakes but not electric ones
They have had it a week as of today so slumming it in in the garages knackered Saab estate courtesy car, they let slip on Friday that they had yet to start the work having had it since Wednesday of last week so high possibility I wont be using them again as apparently it should only take 2.7 hours labour ( what I've paid for )

actually not today but the other weekend decided replace my wheel bearings myself. Was abit more difficult then my old discos and defenders were but that was mainly due to bolts not wanting to come undone easily
I would of done both sides but thanks to Hermes i received 1 wheel bearing and 1 empty box with hermes tap on it to cover the gaping hole in the side . Obviously i orded an empty box Thats next weeks job

Bodged a split intercooler hose on my D4 on the side of the A1 after a Restricted Performance message and Red triangle on the dash!
Fortunately the big gushing noise and Air con fluctuating with revs was a bit of a giveaway something was amiss so was able to stop at a petrol station and check out the issue. Was somewhat worried I would open the bonnet to a split inlet manifold but fortunately not
Tube of Superglue and some electrical tape provided enough stick to seal up the early stage split and hold it well enough to get me home.
Split from inside the hose...
First coating of Superglue outside...
Finished result _
Not pretty but got me home
Trip to Rimmer Bros in the morning hopefully to pick up a replacement Must stop buying shiny toys....
