Don’t do this

Hi all

You know when do some thing and in the back of your mind you think I shouldn’t have done that, well today was that day, washing the D3 thought I’ll wash the engine (bad move) 30 seconds with the jet wash was all it took, engine fault, HDC not available, got it going but not for the faint hearted, don’t Jet Wash the engine 😊

Shocked

Who'd have thought...

If you can get it running, run it on a long drive. You may be able to dry it out.

Pressure washers + engine bay = Censored idea.

(You also need to take care pressure washing the underside).

Also with LR poor quality etching primer, Jetwash any plastic part the was painted at the factory and watch paint peeling away from every stone chip or nic on the paintwork, Had a silver grille on my first one and jet washed the front and before I realised id gone from a stone chip to around 4cm of paint just flying off the front Shocked

Got it Going:

Stripped all the connectors out, although it looked as if no water had contaminated the ECU, cleaned with electrical cleaner, left to dry out, then with a heat gun (at min setting), gently combed the area, reconnected all the plugs and hay presto we have no dash faults, I presume the faults will have to be cleared from the memory though ? Very Happy
