Doh! – Tips retrieving phone lost in the depths of the Disco

Last night I decided to pull the F26 to diagnose a suspension fault.

Being dark, I used my phone torch to see enough to pull the fuse box cover off.

Stupidly I then propped my phone against the rod that holds the bonnet open, not seeing a hole that drops directly into the inside of the wheel arch... you can guess what happened next Big Cry

In the light of day I now need to retrieve the phone, I am guessing the easiest way to do this is to remove the grill, headlight, wheel arch and then the wheel arch liner?

Is this the quickest way to do this or is there some easier way? I think I know the answer to this Laughing

Any advice would be appreciated.

Just remove the plastic inner wheel arch to recover
Just been out to look at my scrapper with the liner removed and can see daylight from the bonnet piston

Well I got it back in the end, only took about an hour to get into the wheel arch liner, so not as arduous as I thought.

Also found what I thought was foam padding but turned out to be a load of compacted mud underneath the arches Shocked so cleaned all that out too!
