me to , my 10 year old springer and 12 year old springer cross just tend to sit under the table ,not like some of the kids in my local pub -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

We are in Scotland this week, went on lossie beach yesterday, plenty of freindly dogs on there yesterday, our Border Terrier loves it in the sea, I've been avoiding Cornwall for a few years now mainly because we are unucky with the weather
Scotland this week has been great weather wise so far, and the kids have gone back upn here now so its quiter.Only dead fish go with the Flow !

I know it's the minority of course but what we see is a trend for poorly trained dogs on campsites, left in awnings to bark for hours on end (the owners always claim they are unaware!), tied up and left to bark. Allowed to roam unsupervised including defacating in public places, beaches etc, allowed to roam on beaches and basically disobedient and out of control.
Over the last 3 weeks away I picked up over a dozen piles of dog crap, and we don't even have a dog A Doberman even on our beach bag which the 'owners' initially thought was highly amusing
I love dogs, grew up with them and will have another when the time is right however they need to be well trained and properly looked after

Portpatrick near Stranraer, dog friendly and camsites are near the town. Good walks and friendly bars. Excellent place.
what Cornwall is doing in keeping dogs off the beaches...
New Zealand towns by the sea did the same...
but most of these places had set dog walking areas set up with Wuff Wuff Ruff areas that dogs could run off the lead & do their No2 s without fear of being fined or the owners having to clear up....all very practical.
so hopefully Cornwall will learn that unless they provide facilities & rules that are practical they will lose holidaymakers that generate their incomesBREXIT - done properly.

Gareth, keep Northumberland a secret don,t tell them all it just might spoil my daily walk on Alnmouth beach with the mut. Of course we wont even mention the unspoilt green lanes and Kielder. Big thumbs up for Portpatrick ,Luce Bay and the Mull all very dog friendly.Unfortunately it is not the dogs it is more a case of the owners not taking responsibility for cleaning up or keeping the dog under control.

Just come back from south wales with the tintent, tried to find a pub to eat in one night...
first three did not allow dogs if my dogs are not welcome then neither is my money in my head...
4th pub accepted dogs ... but.... not serving food that night, got directions to a 5th pub..... road closed on route ended up back at the van, beans on toast..
2 of the pubs asked what sort of dogs they were ???? told them "a 3 legged rabbit chaser & a hungry one"
stop mentioning Northumberland thats one of our get aways as well
Taking the dogs can be restrictive, but great fun to, would not be without ours, great ice breakers the village pub we were near, welcomed dogs and did great food made most welcome
they had a local country show on the bank holiday monday which we entered the dogs in and came away with some rosettes to boot
are'nt dogs just like kids ??? behaved ones should be welcome ... unruley ones are a pain Transit! 2019

Our little dog is part of the family so no dog-no holiday.
Last 2 years we have been to the Channel Islands, Jersey this year and Guernsey last. Dog friendly accommodation takes a bit more finding but it is there (not always cheap and nasty, there is no set rule). I will do far more exploring of an area if I have the dog to walk - always been suspicious of strange people in cagools with maps round their necks! Just leave her in the accommodation in the afternoon if we want to go somewhere.
Going up to Scotland for a few days in October with the dog. Took her for a long weekend in a nice hotel in Northumberland too (Doxford Hall, with my refunded Travelodge money from the CLA gamefair)

Come to sunny Weymouth - I can provide you with a list of dog friendly beaches - even the main beach in the town has a dog friendly area. There are kennels nearby who do day boarding for dogs with their vaccination certificates. I also know a lady who will personally look after your dog during the daytime if you are going somewhere where you can't take the dog and don't like the idea of kennels. Incidentally I do know a nice dog friendly campsite which also allows dogs into the bar Rich

No point in having a dog if you're not going to share the good bits of your life with him/her - the holidays, when s/he gets to be with the centre of his/her universe (you!) 24/7. The best of times! 8)
Unfortunately some anal councils in Scotland are also jumping on to the anti-dog bandwagon, Dundee to name but one, and banning dogs from beaches and sea front areas.
We head off to the continent to avoid this (closer than Cornwall, shame about the ferry prices), Germany and France are particularly dog-friendly in accommodation, pubs, restaurants, etc. When booking, if you ask them whether dogs are allowed, they are often surprised by the question, "of course" they reply. 2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)

we dont have a Dog, we have a furry human. She has her own sleeping bag and sleeps in the tent with us on her memory foam mattress
