@TRicks
A heads up for you before you commit to spending a lot of wedge. The MY14 and later D4 (all marques) have a BCM that is tightly locked down and has very limited configurability.
Get positive confirmation that the headlight type can be changed from Halogen to xenon in the BCM from whomsoever purports to be able to do this. In my experience it can't currently be changed by any of the currently available software tools and a forced entry could brick your vehicle and leave you floundering without warranty with a couple of expensive paperweight headlight units!

Airbus - thanks for the info. I have changed the headlight units from the original halogens to xenon's and got them configured from the help of my local LR Indie. Was pretty simple, just had to enable xenon in the CCF using Autologic. All working perfectly.
I presume this won't effect any other functions controlled by BCM. It certainly hasn't yet.
My main concern is now driving without washers on the bumper, I would prefer the comfort of knowing I am road legal. Plan on speaking to LR dealer today to see if I can order all the parts and bumper, at what cost and whether they will fit it all (not sure I want to do this myself).
It's a shame Xenon's are not standard as everything else about the spec of my GS is perfect for me (i.e don't need sat nav or leather or heated seats etc).
Last resort I can always go back to halogens
