I have a 64 plate discovery 4, recently decide that the stop start button wouldn't do anything. Dash only comes on when locking and unlocking the car. Over a few days it has randomly started and drives fine but when left for a few hours I have the same issue and now doesn't start at all. Battery is fine and charging fine key works to lock and unlock the car it's like it immobilised some how anyone have any idea what the issue could be many thanks in advance.

Do a search on here for Earth strap, it's one possibility.
eg - https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/earth-strap...ight=Earth
It can be tested really easily by temporarily fitting a jump lead between the Battery Earth post and the Engine. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

As is a defective start button.
Of course, once you get the vehicle in"accessory" mode, we would do much better with codes.
