Discovery 4 reversing camera

A curious one for you guys. Just fitted a reversing camera to my 2013 d4, everything hooked up as it should be. When switching to reverse the screen changes but its black. While in reverse, if I disconnect the two wire power plug where the tail gate loom plugs into the body loom and plug it back in, I get the video feed for about half a second and then it goes off again.
Why might this happen?

Have you got CCF updated after fitting it?

Using the Gap IID tool yes, I believe so. Editing the car configuration "confirmed list" I searched for park camera and activated both settings. Was there one I missed?

Yes I have both of those enabled. This feels like some sort of circuit protection. Is that possible?

If it’s black screen the. It’s been CCF changed ok.
So you’re not getting signal from the camera or the power isn’t getting to the camera.

You have done the cable from the back of the touchscreen to under the gear selector area?

Thanks for all the responces guys. All components are genuine second hand minus the smb cable from below the gear selector to the back of the touchscreen, which was from amazon.

I don't believe any component to be faulty due to the camera working momentarily each time I disconnect and reconnect the power plug in the headlining. Literally for 1/4 of a second it functions as it should and I can see behind me but then its back to black screen.

The camera fitted has medium speed CAN bus wires coming from it (yellow/blue, yellow/white) but nothing to plug into on the car. Could this be the issue and the camera shuts down when it doesn't receive signal?

I'll scan the car tomorrow for codes. Thanks again for all the help.

I’m about to fit an aftermarket cam as I have a non stock CarPlay adapter behind the oem head unit.

The aftermarket cam requires a feed from the reverse light as the CAN will switch the screen to grab the camera feed but won’t stay on without the permanent feed from the reverse light circuit.

It sounds like you are getting the switch but it has no permanent feed to keep the camera powered once switched so it lets it go?
A mod a week until I have nothing to improve or add.
