After a chequered history of 6 Shoguns, 1 04 Jeep Cherokee 3.7 an L200 Warrior and a 1998 Discovery ES.. i have finally selected a Disco as my new company car for 4 years.
Flew from Newcastle to Southampton, then trained it to Christchurch (Westover)
First Impressions - Stunning, with a lovely drive back to Newcastle in the sun (mostly)
First few days - Trim clips found, wasn't PDI'd properly (Build Sheet under chair)
Chrome trim on Gear Shifter is slightly loose, wouldnt be so bad but you touch it quite a lot in normal operation
Rear step on bumper slides 10mm side to side.
Blank where sunroof switch would be is pushed in a bit.
...much less than I was expecting!
The worst thing..
...oil level - wait 10 mins to check... what was wrong with a dipstick?
Yesterday and run on the way to a meeting, motorway and cross country, light right foot (for me) 30mpg.
...looking forward to this improving when run in.
Love the whistle of the small turbo spooling up at low speeds.
Wheels - I can get my hand right in to clean
Looks - a real head turner. - Sod to keep clean, but lack of plastic trims make it easy to clean polish.
Power - low down torque
... and much more.
Looking forward to the first 'trundle' off road!

Welcome and enjoy.
Bumper trims all move like that or the D3 I had and now the D4 I have do. Cannopt answer for the other issues.
Dipstick is a right pain but you get used to it sort of.

Welcome on board... great looking motor.
(It's normal for the plastic on top of the rear bumper to move a bit if pushed)

Hi
the D4 looks great. have on order a D4, wanted orkney grey to start off, but Fiona told me otherwise and so Black was ordered.
looking at yours, she was/is/will be spot on with the colour choice.Cheers
Keith
My need for a car required a purchase asap... it all went through in 4 days!
2012 didnt appeal to me, Flappy paddles on an off roader , reduction in torque, not better on Company Car Tax...
...and I dont like the new knob..
I am open minded about the new one, I am waiting to be impressed
LOVE MY 2011 THOUGH

Exactly a point I made in a previous thread.
I think LR have lost it & just pandering to the Chelsea Tractor set.
That sort of stuff is the requirement of a sports car for superquick gear changes .....
...... not a Land Rover for heavens sake.
Frankly I would be embarrassed with a Flappy Paddle in my Disco.
BTW, All you Sanotorini's ... enjoy your weekends cleaning your D4's.
Lovely colour but a pig to keep clean ...
..... I talk from experience as I came from 6 years ownership & slavery to a Java D3.
It really surprised me that contrary to my thoughts the white is so much easier to keep clean.
But black, white, grey .... all good colours IMO for a D4 ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Had some Land Rover literature through the post today about the latest batch of so called Limited Edition(or not so ! ) Landmarks and I notice that the black is now called "Sumatra" ,must be due to the Japanese Quake .Www.devonchilliman.co.uk

Our 2012 model will be in Sumatra black. I don't think it's as sparkly as Santorini. This is due to the Japanese quake.
