I have a 2010 Model Land Rover Discovery 4 SDV6 3.0 vehicle. While driving on the highway, the engine turned itself off and did not start again. The motor was said to lock itself when checked at the authorized service. The dealership charged a price higher than the vehicle price to install the new engine. Then I looked for a good Land Rover Specialist in the West Midlands area but couldn't find it. The places I went to either the fraudster do not understand the business or there were many negative comments about them. Frankly, I didn't trust anyone.
I expanded the area a bit more and started searching all over the UK. I corresponded with several companies and got prices from all of them. I will share these companies with you and if you have experience with these companies, I would like your opinions.
I would also be very happy if there are different company suggestions you trust.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

You could maybe try QPOnline in Maidstone as well.
Never used them myself though.

I’m not in U.K. and haven’t got any experience with any of the companies. On FB, people in the know (and some the moderators seem to have needed new engines, too) seem to mention Oval and QP for quality reconditioned engines AND have paid and received great service.
JAS, Alltrack 4x4 and MMP are mentioned for their knowledge and that they only fit genuine engines from JLR. Genuine new/remanufactured, JLR warranty backed, ones I mean.

Oval autos all the way. I've used Joe and he's 100 miles from my house.
I'm sure that there will be others, but quite simply the only one I know & trust is Oval Autos who are, as already been pointed out a sponsor of this site.
Just search this site for "Oval Autos" and you will realise that you need to look no further.
Good luck; let us know what you decide & how you get on.

First of all, thank you everyone for the ideas 🙏
I sent an e-mail to Oval Autos and a message on social media, but they did not return. I re-sent messages to Facebook pages and mobile phones today. But I've heard some rumors from a few people that the prices are high, I don't know how true it is.
Nevertheless, I will personally evaluate it by asking them a price.

Based on Reputation here and elsewhere I would go for Oval - even if they were at a higher price than the others. Its easy to cut corners to save cost and some on your list have an "interesting" reputation but Oval seems to be really solid. Having said that I have never used them personally but do believe there is a lot to be said of the collective wisdom on this site...

Don't think you're going to get away with a price that is "not high" I'm afraid - the 3.0l V6 diesel appears to have a whopper of an achilles heel with its crankshaft - I hope you went into this ownership with your eyes wide open Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

QP charge around 5k for 3.0 rebuild. JPSK Motors currently have one rebuilt ready to be shipped/installed on your car - just swap all ancils over - 5k as well.

I note this was written on Saturday, and the thread started at 16:00 on Friday. I don't know whether Oval are open on Saturday, I doubt it.
In the circumstances, frustrating as it may seem, I would not expect a response until Monday.

I would say unless the op can diy, the repair will be more than the cars value?
Plus if you get the repair done on price alone I reckon you are just buying more trouble.

The dealership is not doing repairs at all, asking for £ 17,000 plus VAT to install a new engine.
