I don’t know if this would be the same as the disco but when I had a 2013 freelander I fitted 2012 seats in and they used a different ecu for the seats which was not completely compatible with a 2013 my,passenger seat ok but as has been mentioned in an earlier post drivers seat only moved in a very short burst and the memory did not work, the ecu had totally different wiring connections,so best to get similar age of seats if swapping at least it was on the freelander!

Hi ,
Long story short: change the seats to leather electric ones and stucked with the pretensioner- airbag fault.
Checking all the connections, wires , even putting back the pretensioner from the cloth seats , still having the light on .
Checking with IID Tool , clearing the fault initially but it comes back.
Any ideas where to look next ?
TIA

Check you haven't broken the bolt that connects plugs together... I had exactly the same thing... the little brass Colette was the culprit on mine, mind you my eyesight is appalling

If I understand right , the fault code is an electronic one , meaning that , there is no connection, no power ? Correct me if I’m wrong.
It’s possible to need activation or some kind of recognition by the ECU which controls the airbags , or it’s something more simple?EGR blanked.

seams to be a sensor to see if the seat is back (for a tall person)
or near the dash for a short person.

I was checking again the connectors, the pins, the wires leading to floor carpet, ( not under it - maybe next step ) everything looks fine.
With IDTool set the airbags to normal , the fault is cleared but it’s back again in 2 seconds.
Live values below . Any ideea where to look next? ThanksEGR blanked.

Finally ,I found it !
The track sensor is only fitted on drivers seat, so it was missing because I fitted RHD seats on LHD vehicle .
Rapid correction and everything is normal, no more airbag light.

for those struggling to fit memory seats to their base model and get memory working, it is likely to be because the red LIN BUS SJB wire is not connected up.
The wiring diagrams don't show is well, but I noticed it when looking elsewhere.
The wire connects between the memory module, sunroof, CJB and rain sensor.
To CJB pin -32
splice SJ1045 (RRS)
splice SJ45 (D3)

Thanks for the write up as I’m in the middle of this at the moment and I’ve given up for the evening hence looking on here.
Just to clarify, where I need to connect the cut cables to the factory car loom, are you connecting them into the car connector block or are you cutting these cables as well to connect them?
Thanks!! Adam

I know this is an old thread, but hopefully those in the know are still listening.
I've just installed RRS seats into a 2010 D4. The drivers seat has the memory switches and circuit board mounted in the seat.
The passenger seat works fine, after some judicious rewiring, but the drivers seat works on the 2 second burst method.
I've read all the posts but am having trouble as the wiring colours for seats don't match the car; RRS to Disco 4.
My current understanding is that the red and slate twisted pair from the seat go to CJ45 on the car, but I have no idea where or what CJ45 is and which colour wires go where on it.
Regards
Trevor

As a side note , I done a manual to electric seat conversion on a D3 so entirely different but understand the frustration as indeed can be a royal headache , personally I ended up making all new looms, sort i digress
Might be wrong but I think CJ45 is SJ45 ??
Hope the above will help in small way

Thanks for the help Stuart. I think your right, its SJ45 for I'm looking for, but I still can't find out where it is.
How did you wire them to get rid of the bursts?

Hiya
Ur so welcome
I’m pretty sure ive seen that before where SJ45 comes out from the Linbus , but that might just be for the D3 , I’ll try and find it for u
With mine I removed the memory module from underneath the drivers seat , bought a LHD drivers loom , non memory 8 x way seat switch pack
Then took the looms apart and rewired each motor in turn
Edit , found the sj45 but that’s D3, I’ll see if it’s the same for the D4 , apologises as I’m not that familiar with the D4, but will see if I can find anything
Also Pete K, above mentions ref the SJ45

But alas will need to double check if it’s the same for the D4
Hopefully it helps and will have a further search for u through the wiring diagrams
