Discover 4 wont crank

Hi everyone Smile

After having the usual problems with the D4 since we got it new in 09, reduce performance and what have you, it seems it now has a problem starting.

It happened a week ago when we jumped in it and the ignition comes on but the car just will not turn over. Vehicle is relatively low miles at 60k on the clock.

We've forgot about it this week and then came to it this morning on the off chance and it fired straight up. Turned it on and off 5 or 6 times over an hour whist washing the cars and now I've come. To it an hour later and it will not start again.

No warnings..battery charged..no smart key not found error..steering column lock off..in Park.

Any help is much appreciated Very Happy

Dead starter motor? I had this earlier this year while offroad. Dead starter also blew the megafuse - so after installing new starter, it had same symptom. Good luck!

Does the brake pedal feel different and what happens when you press the starter do all the dashboard lights just go out?

If so, mine did this about 18 months ago and it was to do with the brake servo. It seems there wasn't enough pressure for the car to register my foot was on the brake and allow it to start, even though it gave no warning.

The AA man got mine started by really pressing on the pedal and the dealer later did an update as it seems to be a known issue.
