Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery
Hi All Just a quickie. If I disconnect the battery does the vehicle need to be reset when I reconnect it. Or is there anything that I should know before I carry out this exercise
Thanks Roger

Everything should be ok, you'll loose trip info but I don't think you loose radio ore-sets. Saying that, I'm not very techie so might be waiting for an answer without the word "should".
Just make sure that all the systems have gone to sleep before you disconnect - i.e. leave it 2-3 minutes after removing the key and closing the doors - once disconnected you can open the doors again
Then Negative lead first, then the positive (refit in reverse order). Every thing else will be fine, but you will loose the Trip counter, pretty sure the radio isn't effected but I only have the basic radio, so don't know about higher spec units.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

The radio etc isn't affected in any way, the trip etc will zero and the first time I did it I lost the seat memories. On all other occasions the trip was the only thing affected.
I've replaced the battery and fitted a new steering wheel recently with no ill affect so don't worry about it.. TDV6 HSE - Light Guards - White Reflective Sticker

Hi Roger, as MrH posted, make sure the computer has gone through it’s Shutdown routine before you disconnect the battery.
It’s easy to check if the computer is finished it’s Shutdown routine. Put your Park Brake on, turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
You will notice that, although everything else has turned off, your Park Brake Indicator is still on. This will only go out once the computer has finished it’s Shutdown routine.
Once the Park Brake Indicator is out, it’s fine to work on the D3’s electrics.
None of the sound systems in D3’s have codes that are lost if you change your battery, ( thank heavens ).2008 TDV8 RR Lux + 2009 D4 2.7
