Hi mate.
That’s just it though, I replaced the 2 with highest and lowest numbers which didn’t change anything and then swapped them all around but fitted new seals and they are still relatively the same. Something I need to check on is there some correlation between the highest and lowest. Like does one fire straight after the other or something. In case there’s an issue with the mechanicals of the engine. I’m clutching at straws really. Jarrod

Hi mate
It seems as though the ecm isn’t reading them correctly if there staying around the same
At least if u check out the loom along with the pins / connectors at both ends it will eliminate that bit
Have u ever done a compression test on the engine , just generally thinking about it

Hi buddy
With a compression test u pull the injectors one by one , also need to pull a sensor to stop the engine from trying to fire
But at least if that loom and ecm is checked first we can at least see if that’s ok and go from there , seeing the inj readings stay the same when changed around which is bizarre
Could the ecm have gone into some sort of fuel default ????, so even after changing the inj The ECM hasn’t seen the new readings , alas I’m not knowledgeable enough if a hard reset clears them
Also have u put a pressure gauge on the shrieder fuel valve at the back of the engine to see what it is plse
Know that’s not really much help to u

Well quick update seen as I’ve been away busy for what feels like years,
Driven the disco about 700 miles in total since the gearbox swap. Well night and day difference as such the car is an absolute pleasure. BUT. (There’s always a but)
The steering is horrific. The cooper Zeon ltz winter wheels I’ve got on must have been balanced by stevie wonder. Every time you tap the brakes at anything over 40mph and the steering wheel judders. (Yes I know I still have the bottom arms to change. Probably lower column and steering rods to do) but still. Can’t stop grinning.
Also I got this bloody noise if I accelerate quite hard in first and second sounds like someone blowing a blade of grass through their hands. (You older rural lot know what I mean) so guessing I have a pin hole somewhere.
Now my work has gone quiet....
Disco is parked down the workshop, side steps finally coming off to fit my refurbed shires. Front bumper and grill off to the body shop, change the bottom arms etc etc. Rs intercooler etc Rear hub bushes and links, total renewal of back brakes, good go over, then off to the body shop. Plus all the other bits I’ve forgotten.
Can’t decide if I want to colour code all the black plastic or not.
Keep you all posted.
Oh and get the bloody air con regassed. We nearly melted this weekend. disco is a glorified green house on wheels with no air con.Jarrod

Hiya budd.
How’s the back doing ?
Was planning to start work today but dad decided he wants to scrap off the cars laying around his yard, turned into a decent day though as I managed to bag a set of these for £20 !!
I have no idea if they will fit my car but for £20 thought I’d have them. All in good shape with some curb marks etc. 22” Range Rover wheels.
Also robbed a boot cover handle off his Audi A4 avant before we scrapped it.

Hi John.
It isn’t. Yet. I believe I had more than one issue. I still have an occasional misfire now and then under heavy load. Just one hiccup and then it’s fine. My iid tool says injector 2. Which one this is I just can’t seem to pin down what location the iid tool thinks injector 2 is. The other fault I believe was water getting in at the seam of the roof above the windscreen which I’ve sorted with some capt tollys. Since it’s dried out the rest of the running problems are gone. I drove over 900 miles since last Friday and the car drove as well as could be expected with a rumbling front diff, knackered bottom arms and bad alignment issues but when the wife’s gearbox spat its dummy out at the last minute I had no choice but to drive it. Admittedly I silently told myself that if it broke down on me then I would cut my losses and let her go. If she did me proud I would spend the money to put her right once and for all.
I’ve recently moved house and had a mad 2 years with a new job, we had twins, a few other things I haven’t had chance to do much with the discovery. That’s all about to change though.Jarrod
