Sorry Paul couldn't really tell you.

We got him from a breader in York who had six full working Labs, he did give us a print out of his ancestors but where that is now is another matter ? He is deffo from Drakeshead decendants tho.

He is a cracking dog, full of personality and confidence bordering on cocky ! Laughing

Yes, Drakeshead dogs are very confident, they are brilliant in really rough cover and brambles, something Labs weren't that great at in the "old days"!

John Halstead certainly knows how to breed great gundogs! Thumbs Up

Spot the Difference.

Update with our new(ish) now 6 months old Disco and change in dogs. One of the older ones has been 'replaced' with a new one!

As a matter of interest, how does your older lab manage with the jump in and out of the boot? It's been around 8 years since we last had an old collie (always collies!) and I used to have to lift him in and out of the back of just a Volvo V70.

Out current collie is 7 years old and, as I hope I'll be able to keep this car for at least 6 years, it'll be an issue again one day....

The old one is now 13 and a half (in the middle in the old photo) and hasn't jumped in or out of the boot for 18-24 months now.

He does put his front paws up on the tailgate to help with the process of getting in. And we always put the suspension into access mode when parked.

The middle one (in age) is fine as he is 5 and a half but at 39kgs not looking forward to when he can't get in..

It's certainly good to have a mix of ages in a pack of dogs. Wish we could still have two Rolling Eyes

We have found that the new one is happier with the older dogs and seems easier to house train than when we got the two litter mates to start with.

Even with 2 labs in the house it did feel strange for the 5 months before we got the new boy.
