And I was thinking it too...... Question is......Great minds or fools?? The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Firstly Chris I applaud your enthusiasm & vigour for coming up with an idea that wishes to keep everyone informed and raise the profile of the site , well done. Nothing like a young mind to come up with new ideas
But , Unfortuneately I agree with the the last couple of opinions whereby most of the subject matter would be out of date by the time it goes " to print" so to speak.
BUT ...... An "official" Disco3 reporter that would cover all the events would be a good idea though
Keep the ideas coming

As most of the forum members don't get to go to most events, coverage and a write up of these would be good.
Maybe showcase some of the more interesting Gallery images and hot topics too.
Not everyone can be aware of and read everything this monster of a resource has.

Hmm, all good points I hadn't thought of.
However I would be considering the fact that unless you read the site every day then you're likely to miss out on a lot of threads and topics. I know you can go away for a few days and have pages and more of "New Posts" on your return. Perhaps some kind of a summary of key 'issues' and if necessary links to the threads for those who missed out at the time.
Event coverage was another thought, perhaps a short snippet from each event to let the rest of us know what happened / what it was like as events happen up and down the country and, of course, abroad meaning that not all of us can attend all of them.
Just an idea, thanks for the feedback 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

Don't be too downhearted CY you have to take the rough with the smooth Why don't you run a trial copy and prove some of us wrong eh ?? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Absolutely, it's worth remembering not to just re-write the forum
Will perhaps attend another event then have a bit more to write about 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7
2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE G4 Challenge (1 of 68)
2023 Defender 90 D250 X-Dynamic HSE
Idea is good Chris though (as I think I said) more relevant to a club, feel free to give a try though, I'm sure lots of us will help out where we can. Though if it's a success you'll be expected to do another one, then another, then another....... The End

I'll take a morning next week and put together a sample of what I mean, there are plenty of write-ups at the moment of Tunisia and Crosiere Blanche etc. from 10, Chris and co. just now which could help - so long as they approve of their photos/quotes being used 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

As a compromise between a dedicated newsletter (repeats what exists within the Board) and just the normal postings on the board (people miss a lot of good stuff unless they read everything), how about a periodical "Disco3.co.uk highlights" posting? This would be a posting with a bit of narrative/editorial with links to good postings and images.
People could nominate good threads/pics to CY and he decids what's good enough to make "CY's best of the board".

Why not just let CY put something together, request anything he needs from us and then let him show us what he means to produce as a news letter ??
I could be a feature on the latest major problem or two, then a large index list of some form, ie date posted and by who for frequently asked issues or suppliers of bits ?

I get occasional e-mail updates from a different forum, which serves as a reminder that I'd signed up to them.
I think the overal idea of a newsletter update (webpage link as well as perhaps a PDF) is a great idea.
There are probably 50 or 60 regularly contributing 'members' (I'm sure Martin can provide actual statistics) and a whole shedload of 'lurkers' who may have signed up once.
This could be the ideal catalist to re-ignite some people's interest.
For those of us (ahem) that perhaps have greater access & interest on being on the site, it MAY not be as interesting, but for the greater good of everyone, I think it could generate more activity. Would be interesting to know if the first one was produced, how much extra activity the site experiences the day after......
Just as an aside, There are a LOT more people being able to afford a Disco3 now warranties are expiring and you can pick them up for sub £20k, so could be an ideal summary for new people coming through to act as an archive of features.
Just my 2penneth.
CY, you could even print them out to use instead of those flyers Bodsys Brake Bible

Well there are those ......
But also lots of 'normal' people who will love the D3.
I get more and admiring glances (of the D3 I assume, not of me...) since I bashed the door and I haven't washed it for a while than I've ever had.... so maybe a D3 with a bit of character is teh way to go. Anyone fancy doing a full rollcage for an older D3........ Bodsys Brake Bible
