Just a quick question..
Looking to trade up from my D2 V8 ( That I've had about 6yrs, and has been totally reliable, just ready for a change )
Do I buy high mile D4 that would be at the top end of my budget, or is it a more sensible option to go for D3 and leave money in the pot for repairs ?
After reading all the horror stories, I think the latter may be wise
Are they really that bad, or is it a case of the good ones don't warrant talking about on forums ?
Lastly, anyone in Yorkshire looking to sell - must be auto, and pref SE or HSE
Thanks

Really depends on what you prefer.
Some on here prefer the D3 others the D4
General advice would be to drive a number of examples of both and then decide which you prefer.
Yes, forums like this tend to focus on problems and horror stories but the lucky owners who never have any major problems won't post "had a great week - nothing went wrong". Wwe all know our cars listen to us and a comment like that really is the kiss of death
Both the D3 and D4 are great vehicles and with alot of TLC will run for years and years. Just have a look at the post about maximum miles https://www.disco4.com/forum/max-miles-109883-465.html
Keep an eye on the For Sale section of this forum, both D3s and D4s come up for sale and you know that if they are being sold on here they will have been well looked after and cared for. Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

I have a good friend/Indy Landy repairer for many years. He would’nt be seen dead owning a Td5.
This is a result of the ones that he repairs, not the vast majority that are ok.
