They are availabe or will be so shortly in NL according to my dealer.
You pay 50% tax on it and have to wire 152.000 euro to your dealer if you want one.

Why What is wrong with the fuel "economy" ?
22MPG on my daily commute .... 25MPG Open road and (17MPG City )
However with 280+ Kw I don't mind ......

With petrol costing €1.70 a litre here in Ireland and around £1.50 a litre in the UK, a V8 simply isn't viable from an economic point of view these days in Europe, hence why LR don't actively market them.
How much is a litre of petrol/diesel in South Africa at the moment? 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Well, if the D4 V8 does c. 22 mpg, and assuming the D4 DV6 averages say 28, over my annual mileage of 16000 that's a difference at UK pump prices of £770.
If the car is perhaps £5k cheaper to buy, that's a saving over say 4 years of ownership.
I'd take the V8. ____

Yeah, but it's not Graham. When you sold it you'd get all of about 3 quid for it. Residuals are dreadful, as I found with my V8 Disco 3. They really are a difficult thing to get rid of secondhand.
But hell yeah, nowt like a V8 burble.

Our fuel price is running at just less then 1 pound per lt?
The V8 D4 are being sold at a discounted rate when compared to the diesels - but the diesels seem to hold their value better so it comes down to the sort of mirages one expects to drive when making the choice.
I gave my V8 D3 to wifey and bought a SDV6 SE D4 - best of both worlds!
