Disco 4 Turbo Repair

My 2009 Disco 4 is booked in with my local dealer next week to have a turbo repair done (cant actually remember what it was), thankfully I have an extended warranty. I believe this is a body off job, is there any other maintenance or replacements worth doing while the body is off. Car has done around 50,000 miles.

Grateful for any help/advice.

thanks

Cambelts as its 7 years old ( unless already done). And maybe crankshaft sensor and trigger wheel.

Front & rear anti roll bar bushes & front to rear brake pipes are well worth replacing whilst the body is off !

I would consider fitting a new oil pump, front crankshaft oil seal, and crankshaft pulley bolt.

When refitting the turbo, on the D3, it is recommended that you take out the studs and drill the threads out to 8mm. Use 2x M8 flange bolts to refit. This aids future turbo removal massively, and is also much quicker. This may not apply to the D4?

Consider changing intercooler hoses, particularly the 2 small ones for silicone.

Consider replacing and possibly upgrading intercooler. At very least clean intercooler & radiator.

Inspect & rust proof or replace rear brake lines

Check cross-over pipe at rear of the engine

Check in-tank fuel pump & clear any debris on its pick-up

Check, clean and paint any corrosion on chassis

Consider fitting metal sump to gearbox, & drain torque converter for a full oil change
