Had a loan RRS while my D4 was in for work, did not like it as I found the cabin a bit enclosed(big centre console). Just take delivery of a MY12 D4 HSE with 8 speed box, this is a huge improvment on what was a very nice car(D4 HSE MY10), just driven about 10 miles with the box set to "S" who very impressed.
My vote will go to D4 especially as we go camping a lot . RRS is a nice car if you have no kids and play football  MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I had the RRS as a loaner this week while my MY11 D4 was in for service. The RRS is much quieter but felt more cramped in the cabin due to the larger console as others have said. Also, the switches for the ride height and hi/lo range were more difficult to access due to the arm rests which seemed more intrusive on my HSE. The clincher was the boot - I picked up a couple of bits and pieces for Xmas but it wasn't until I got my D4 back and threw in 2 bags of rock salt that I realised how much space was missing in the RRS.
