Afternoon all,
Thinking of doing an Alive remap on the D4 SDV6.
Has anyone done it and is it worth it?
Alive remaps seem quite popular.
I'm not intent on having the dog pinned to the back window on the school run or setting a new Disco record at the Nurberg ring for that matter, but it might be nice to have a bit of "hows your father" under the bonnet!
Thanks in advance.

Had mine done by them last year, just a bench map and not on the rolling road as that was fully booked for months but they know their stuff so well with the D4 its just as good.
Plus points
smoother acceleration from standing start all the way up the revs
smoother gear changes
smoother during general driving
no hesitation on the throttle from standing, instant response.
faster than smelly stuff off a shovel.... or at least thats how it felt
approximate figures were 305bhp (up from 255bhp to RRS figures) and iirc 600Nm of torque which is about 150Nm up i think (again to RRS figures) so all within factory tolerances for components.
minus points
costs more in fuel as the grin factor is totally endless 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Gary was the one who did mine IIRC
Insurance didnt change for mine with Admiral but they did ask a lot of questions, i just used the argument it was only the same as a range rover sport now and wasnt a performance remap 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

In my opinion the EU6 engines, at least the two 16 plate ones that I owned, were noticeably faster, sweeter and a tad more frugal.
I didn’t think they needed more oomph but had I, I’d have contacted Pete Bell at BAS.
