Sweet! That’d be one of my choices tooLRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I went for the R Design D5, with Xenium, Winter, Security, and Handling packs. As well as most other extras including park heating. It may not be as capable off road as a D4, but it is far, far superior in every other way to the D4. The tech is awesome.

Sounds tempting.
Thinking Kodiaq for my next one though. I have a certain MY16 Landmark in mind for a few years time but not if I'm going to freeze the vitals off.

No split tail gate and it's boot lip makes it inferior to the D3/4 for my needs. I'd not rule out owning one in the future though, as unless the new Defender comes up trumps, I'm going to either have to keep my D4 forever or make some big compromises.
Thankfully the heating in both my MY16 Landmark's was/is fine. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Quite right, there is no split tailgate. But it does have a completely flat floor with no lip.

Hmmm; my MY15 is back with my LR dealer , having only bought the car a couple weeks back; I’ve had to take it back twice to get a myriad of issues looked at.
One of which is that I can never get comfy in the cabin; and I note that the passenger temp dial seems to control the far right driver side vent. It just seems all over the place... they looked at it and said that it’s fine and all works as intended. But, along with everything else, I find it hard to digest... very poor.
Now I’m once again back to thinking ‘reject’! Why did I bother with an LR product?? I really don’t know; I think I’m on the verge of bowing out completely and never bothering with another LR again. The battle continues...

At the moment I have mine set on 22, AC on and all vents open (its not got really cold here in Newquay yet) - but I think my next step will be to manually close forward facing vents..... and see what happens....2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

Seems I may be a victim also as my 15my is somewhat like my SWMBO blows hot and cold whenever it wants too, only had car 5/6 months but only recently noticed the tempiture changes due to using heating element more recently, 2015MY discovery 4 se tech with factory black pack.
With added
Rse, tv, electric memory seats, rear camera, heated steering wheel,
Headlight dip assist, remote FBH, led door light pack, easy lift kit, osram front fog/drl/active cornering lights. and whatever els I can find to do,

Yeah, lip wasn't the correct term. I meant the two "steps" of the rear bumper.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

ooh no
my old d4..my11ish..has just started this..hot for 10 mins then cold...and have to manual override..first time like this..all flaps whirr when tested. will check temp sensors when have time.
on a side note my maserati had a faulty rear aircon stepper motor..one year passed warranty..they collected it from the office on a low loader and fixed it for free as it was a known fault..(and maybe as the family has spent 6 figures on the brand).returned cleaned a few hours later.
thats service
so..when.can I expect a pick up for the D4? It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Mines back from the garage and all is well now when driving. Much better. Still blows old on first startup but he techie said he doesn’t know why as it seems to just do whatever it was doing when it was turned off.
Not going to bother trying to get that sorted as I don’t think there’s really a solution and it’s not too bad to love with. Very happy with the D4 again now.

the temperature control problem-the culprit
Somerset Bumpkin wrote:
If it helps I get around it by manually selecting all three vents (feet, face and windscreen).l and keep it like that. For whatever reason I then get hot air as per normal. Doesn’t fix the initial blast of cold air on start up but does fix the general poor heating when you’re up to temperature.
This is the only solution after trolling the 11 pages of complaints.
Thanks "Somerset Bumkin" so it appears there is a disconnect between the flap motors that distribute air-flow when set on Auto.
This shold get the heads-up from all those at LR who appear clueless
