See other Land Rover models were mentioned , will be interesting to see how the new defender rates

Least reliable model: Land Rover Discovery Sport (2014-present) - 59.3%
Least reliable model: Range Rover Evoque (2011-2019) - 61.7%

Surprised by the following as thought Tesla we supposed to be very good in the EV class

Most reliable model: Nissan Leaf (2011-2018) - 100%

Least reliable model: Tesla Model S (2014-present) - 66.2%

As the owner of both a Leaf and a D4, I like to think I'm splitting the difference. Very Happy

The Leaf really has cost next to nothing to run for the last 4 years. I've put a set of rear brakes and a some tyres on it. Oh, and windscreen washer fluid.

Yeah, but do you actually love Leaf, do you enjoy driving it, do you get pleasure and those amazing feelings you get from LR? That`s the Question my friend Smile

It is actually quite a fun little thing to drive. The instant torque is very effective up to 50mph. The weight of the batteries gives it a nicely damped ride, and since it’s the Tekna spec it has all the trimmings like leather heated seats and steering wheel. It also does about 90% of our local driving and at 7 years old still shows 100% battery health.

So I don’t enjoy it the same way I do the Discovery, but in its own way it is great.

I fully agree with the statistics. Owning an LR (4) you need to be pain resistant.

nothing wrong with the Leaf, but it is a large volume model compared to the LR4.

JLR are not gaining as much experience as large volume OEMs due to their low volume manufacturing. No economies of scale, no experience and even worse, not listening:)

Car dealerships are a nightmare, have no parts because all is stocked in Metz / France or coming from UK.

To some extend - once you have had a Mercedes or a Toyota or Mitsubishi SUV - you must be drunk or in foolish love to buy JLR.

Sorry guys, but thanks to this forum and its people and my foolish love I am owning a LR4. Totally irrational my wife is saying.

“……… and Toyota still looks ugly as fuk Wink “ And drives even worse. Plonk a large caravan/trailer on the back and it’s verging on being dangerous!

I would not make excuses for JLR because they ought to be getting their act together now and sorting things out, and the majority of their dealerships appear to be diabolical, BUT you have to consider that the newest D4 is now five years old, with the oldest being twelve. Also, many will have worked for a living instead of being a fashion accessory. Very Happy

It works well for me, but I’ll not pretend it’s a versatile or practical as a D4. Nothing is though!

The FFRR makes up for it in other ways, especially if it’s a V8. The SDV8 average mpg is higher than my D4’s, which is a bonus.
