Adrian Flux. Didn't charge extra for grille, sliders, off road tyres, compressor & sump guard.

Happy to take a look for you 1010! Give us a call on 01635 874646

grzesiul - thank you!

Aerialmark - If you have an accident and the garage reports back to the insurers that there are modifications on the vehicle which they weren't aware of you could find yourself in a bit of a pickle!

Thanks

Carlie,
What happens if the mods were done before you bought the car and didn't realise they were mods? How many of us would know if an engine's been remapped before we bought it?

IMO the term modification is a very broad brush to paint with.

If I pranged my grille, and didn't want to claim, I would look to see what I could get on the Bay or Thieves. As long as it said it was a D4 grille (for me), and it was reasonably priced, I would get it. Further down the line, if I then had to claim for some front end damage, and it was declined because it wasn't the original grille, I would be well hacked off.

Whereas, upgrading a GS to a HSE spec would be a major modification, I would not expect it to be covered.

Most cars you would know as advertised with MODs etc, or with the BHP they are putting out (again, often advertised) - if it's 400bhp on a Fiesta then that's a bit of a giveaway.

Exterior MODs such as snorkels, spot lights, winches - all visible and likely non standard.

it is to the best of your knowledge, but it is your duty as the owner of the vehicle to know what you car is/has on it - the insurer would reserve the right to void a claim if not disclosed, if you have any concerns about a possible modification you can get it checked to make sure.

Thanks
Carlie

surely if it's a Land Rover genuine part then it's not a modification then? Confused

If it is fitted after-market then it's worth just mentioning it to insurers that even though it is a Land Rover part/ factory fitted option it was fitted after sale just to make sure you aren't withholding any information

Smile better to be safe in these instances
