We have fitted a new hpfp now improved high pressure while cranking
But still no start.
We are running with a mains powered jump starter so have good voltage14.7-8
The mechanic is now thinking possibly cranksensor?
As there was nothing ion the crank To trigger the sensor?
Getting very depressed as been waiting 3 months for this car and have spent 7k
Rebuilding so far 😭😭😭😭
Can I check the crank sensor on the iidtool ?
Can only see engine speed option?
Any help greatly received

ROBBIE'S GUIDE TO THE LOW PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM
Not sure if this can help in anyway seemed quite good but might only help if running

Hi thanks for the responses
We have already gone through the Robbies guide and am happy with the low pressure side
The mechanic who built up the engine has now said not 100% sure camchain timing is 100% 😡😡😡😡
So will double check tomorrow’
I am now a little shocked at this statement because if I had rebuilt the engine (which I am capable of)
I would not be turning the key if I was not 110% sure all the timing was correct and chance wrecking a £4000 engine rebuild
😡😡😡😡

Lost for words at that statement like you said check and double check even before trying to start. Guess difficult when trusted somebody else to do the job hope it's correct and something else is the problem

Ok
It seems that the sensor ring that attaches to the crankshaft to trigger the crank sensor
Was not refitted
Body back off and engine/box back out to refit hopefully they won’t be trying to charge
Me for all the additional labour.
Will update if this resolves it (I know it won’t run without it)
Cheers

You cannot re-use the old trigger ring as it gets damaged upon removal.
The new trigger ring has to go on with a special tool to 'time' it correctly.
I purchased my trigger ring from Citroen as it was much cheaper and thanks to a forum member, he lent me the proper tool (they were quite expensive but are easily available now)
