England

I always fancied a boxster, until I tried getting in one. At only 6’4” I would that thought this wouldn’t be a problem given it’s German and a lot of German lads aren’t short 😉

But I couldn’t get in with the roof up, or get the seat far enough back once in. Brought an E85 Z4 instead. It’s 18 years old and just gone through it’s mot with no advisories at all 👍

Funny you say that, the one complaint I have with the 986 Boxtser and 996 911 is the seats.

They don't go anywhere near low enough, not just for headroom, but for how you feel sat in the car. So much so I have just purchased a pair of 997 'manual' front seats, which drop down around 2" lower than the 986/996 seats and make all the difference.

It will be interesting to see how different it feels when they arrive next week.

Another 911 owner here, i've driven both 911s and Discovery 4's for over 6 years now so so must be a glutten for punishment, i've had a new engine on one of the discos but touch wood the two 911's i've had have been fantastic.

main difference

Owning an older Porsche and a D3 the main difference is that Discos looses value while the Porsche value increase every year (at least my '91 aircooled car).
For me the D3 is the winter car while the Porsche is used during summer when weather forecast is good...
