Disco 3 TDV6 Service intervals |
|
We have a conflict in South Africa in terms of service intervals. My service book (Sept 2005)says 12 mths or 20000 kms, but the later service books indicate 6 mths or 10000 kms! Landrover SA are charging owners for the service - or threatening to - if they miss the 6 mths period, and they have told me the same thing, despite my service book info.
What is the position in the UK, and are Landrover also being very heavy handed in this regard.
Any comments will be welcome.
Great forum, guys!

12 Months/20,000km. is probably OK for Europe, but with the harsher conditions and longer distances in South Africa (and Australia), 6/10,000 would be better.
But if Land Rover SA or their dealers attempted to charge for a missed service, I would say a couple of words to them, one of which would be "Get"..... Ex Defender 110 200Tdi owner.

The sulphur content of the diesel fuel would be a significant factor in engine oil change intervals. Not that I know whether in South Africa you have an equivalent very low sulphur fuel as we have in Western Europe.

I my service book it says every 12 months or 24000kms... LR Sweden say 20000kms at their home page. Oh well...
