Disco 3 diesel heater excessive smoke& diesel in the road

Good morning all, I’ve recently returned from being away, a good couple of months, then to start my discovery 3, upon starting it was absolutely fine, got into town where I realised the smoke coming off it from the diesel heater thing was mental, filling the road, upon getting home it I realised that is was leaking diesel in the road, is there a common fault with this or is it a case of finding and replacing the pipe to that heater? Or is that normal after leaving it so long? Was perfect when I parked it up so I don’t see why this would be an issue. Confused

Kind regards, Brandon.

Little rubber diesel feed pipe that actually goes into the heater itself gets brittle and splits or sets the car on fire!

I replaced mine and added some heat proof sleeving over the top.

Another possibility might be a mouse attack. They like the sound deadening material so if that has any signs of damage it would pay to check out what you can of the wiring looms. Hopefully it is just as suggested, a cracked hose.
I found a large quantity of cherry stones in the inner wing of my D3, each carried 25m, from the tree, and over a 3m wall.

Mine was eaten by a mouse. Cut and join solved the issue. If they attack again will replace with metal pipe.

if not the title hose on the fbh

try following the line back think there is a joint by the inner wing where it is mounted that can leak as well
