Disco 3 to 4 safety improvements?

Has anyone got, or come across, any detains relating to any safety improvements/developments between the Disco 3 and 4?
Are they essentially the same body with the same airbag setup or were there some other key improvements for occupants safety?

AFAIK they’re the same.

If you’ve got ACC (cruise with distance radar) theoretically it is of course better than regular cruise.

Pre 2007 D3 lacks additional steelwork on chassis outrigger, behind front wheels. I believe the updated version helps prevent the wheel going through the footwell in a crash.

And some owners grind the deflection lump back to enable bigger tyre/wheels to be fitted.

Also I think the sampling for ABS and stability control runs much faster in the D4, which might make a difference avoiding something. On the other hand I suspect the seats in the D3 with the fixed headrests protect better from whiplash, and the xenon headlamps on the D3 that see around corners are the best of the lot. I don’t think the differences are enough to choose one over the other just on safety grounds.

Hi

That’s very interesting with regards to that front outrigger , got them fitted on my 2005 , but more than likely different one as u mention after 2007

Plus were they the same outriggers originally designed for the RRS as part of there stability control system where the end drop links are attached to these small chassis outriggers plse, thks

But as always I expect I’m thinking of something else Laughing

Managed to find a pic of those chassis outriggers on mine
