disc0 4 low battery shown on dash
hi, was sitting in the car whilst the wife was shopping listening to the radio after about 45 to 60 minutes radio turned off turned it on again wife came back went to do some shopping after 5 minutes wife phones me radio turned itself off dashboard says low battery start engine which I did.nothing on the car was tuned on no lights at all, would the radio being on for an hour result in this. my main concern is I have just purchased a electric cooly box which may cause the same problem . many thanks, alan.

Basically coz you think just the radio is on then it’s not using much juice, but you’re keeping the car awake and it’s using a lot. Many peeps have kept the bangin toons on when washing the car to find the car dead when they try to start.

Unless someone has altered the sockets all should switch off after short time, (2-3 mins) after ignition has been switched off, so should not be a problem.
On the earlier models such as yours it was poss to listen to the radio for about 30-45 mins before it would switch off, but pushed much beyond that and you will get the star engine low batt warning pop up.
If using the radio or keeping a driver or passenger door open it stops the car systems going to sleep and you will drain your battery within about an hr.
Later models you are lucky to get 10 mins from radio before it just switches off.D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST
