Differential check on Land Rover Garage - Land Rover Notice |
|
Hi All dear DISCO3 collegues ,
just to signal that yesterday evening I went to my LR Garage to programming the second romote control/transponder that was locked due to the recend electronic problem I had (see my previous message ) and there the guy do ALSO a check, he said coming from an official Land Rover Notice, to the oil inside the rear differential ( ).
He watch the oil, said that was ok ("bright as new") and then refill it with a new one, even if the Notice (he said) ask only a check and not about the sostitution of it.
I enphasize that it was checked only because I was yestreday there for other things: no one notice arrive before to me (probably not an important issue... I hope... ) and 2 weeks ago they have my car there for about one week (so it is relative recend as Notice).
The same check was required also on the RR Sport model (maybe identical mechanical part).
Does anyone know something more about it? Could be a check to find some potential or known problem in production?
Ciao
Paolo

Yes its a service action, dating from last year, that asks dealers to change the differential oil on 06 and 07 model year vehicles, due to a possible missed washing operation at manufacture which can result in swarf or particles contaminating the oil.
