Difference between D3 and D4 Cubby fridge

Hi All,

How does one tell the difference between a D3 and a D4 Cubby Fridge. I read they are not interchangeable?
Thanks

One will flatten your battery if left on... can’t remember which way round though!

A D3 cubby fridge works in a D3 and D4, but the D4 fridge in the D3 doesn’t have a low voltage sensing switch (like D3 one has) and will kill the battery. D4 fridge obviously is fine in a D4. Thumbs Up

 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

How can you tell physically they look identical from the photos I have seen?

PS there are some differences in the notch in the top bit to allow cables to the lid, can’t remember what the differences are though. Confused

This is a cooler box from (originally) an 06MY SE, no factory phone kit fitted:

And the original cubby liners, one from my old 06MY S with factory phone kit, and my D4 with USB bits in the lid:

If you’ve got any wiring up to the cubby lid that you want to keep the you’ll need one with a notch cut out, or cut said notch yourself.

Thanks for the replies. The switch looks different on this one so assume this is the D4 if yours is D3?

Or could be a D3 one for a car with phone kit. Doesn’t help you much!! Laughing

Always thought the D3 led on the switch was green and blue on the D4

Sure I read in the Cubby Fridge group buy, they are now interchangeable, from Dan the Man himself

Apart from the voltage sensing bit they are interchangeable. Well worked for me anyway. ISTR green (better and colder) changed mid-life of the D3 to purple. I might be wrong, it was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

I’m pretty sure my D3 one is blue.
