Refitted the alloy outer strip on drivers sidestep as it decided to fall off yesterday due to corroded rivets. Re-drilled the holes, put M5 nut rivets in and jobs a goodun.
Also got around to fitting the ARB spare wheel winch adaptor plate for the boot, which has no fitting instructions to say you have to cut away part of the carpet and plastic trim. It will definitely be a game changer to release the spare wheel with a boot full of kit (7 seater).
Also attempted to jack the car up for the 1st time to look at the EPB adjustment and shoes, but my jack and axle stands weren't high enough.
I think I need to search the forum for a how to. Laughing

It's the smoke test I can't bear as the tester revs the guts out of it. I always fear a piston letting go and exiting through the block. Shocked

With 10k km driven again it was time for an oil change. Used Mannol Energy Formula FR 7707 like last time. Besides replacing the oil filter, changed also the cabin and engine air filters.

Replaced the D3 stalks with D4 stalks. Look nicer and feel better when using.

How easy was it to swap out? You notice any difference in the ride? Still got the factory fit ones on my 08 plate and suspecting it’s time to swap them out

Arnotts are superb easy job to swap since there is no middle bolt sticking out it is also much easier to tighten them up in situ

I recommend taking the liner out (although doable with then in ) but having access to more air line makse it so easy to reconnect air lines properly

so far hold the air as I did over night suspension leak test with all fuses out in offroad mode and it sayed OK

ride is much better since I have also rebuilt air compressor few days earlier as it was stuffed with Censored of broken drier beeds

shock replacement due to extreme rust on lowers which was falling off every time shock extended so risc of punturing the bags which might be pain on long drive

so far very happy especially cos i only paid 500 quid for a pair

I picked up a drawer system!

Edit: I've stared at it for longer than is polite. I think I can make it work!

I bought a drawer system on Swiss ebay, and today I drove a 4h round trip to collect. It's made using Sortimo globelyst drawers. One double height and two regular height. It fits width-wise, and is just below parcel shelf height. It was a bargain at about £90

Or so I thought...

It's exactly too long 🤦‍♂️ By maybe 5cm. So I can't use second row seats

So much for my plan to avoid making a system myself! With regret I am back to plan A of cutting up some office furniture pedestal units!
