Installed new upper tailgate struts from SGS. Almost got hit by the flying door when I attempted to open it the first time.
Old struts were original LR, quite tired already which was noticeable in cold temperatures as the lift gate didn’t want to open completely anymore.

Had the following done at approximately 197500 km:
- new serpentine primary and secondary drive belts (PQS500221, PQR500330)
- replaced tensioners (PQG500030, PQG500220)
- replaced tension pulley (PQR500350)
- changed spark plugs, Denso IK16TT
- replaced PCV right valve cover (LR003380)
- replaced front ARB bushes and clamps with new ones (LR015339, RBU500100)
I sourced all parts, except spark plugs, as Land Rover original ones. I did look at different aftermarket bushes (superpro, polyflex, ...) but since I was unable to make my mind on pros/cons I eventually went with LR stock on these, too.
The drive belts weren’t knackered but the rubber was starting to show it was losing its elasticity.
Noticed on the way home that there were no more knocking from the front... rear ARB bushes still to be done in a few days, hopefully it’ll remove the klunking I hear from there.

Swapped both rear license plate lights to new Phillips ones. Treated for rust the bolts that hold the tailgate struts. Applied a bit of silicone paste to silence the sound when opening the upper tailgate.

Took it for an MOT. Aaaaaaaand it passed! After a pair of new wipers, admittedly
Changed oil(Shell Helix Ultra) and filter plus new air filter @ 165,430 ( I am not confident enough to change the fuel filter as it was a pig when I first tried it when i purchased the car back in 2015 ) I had the front end in the garage and the wind and rain was howling in at me. I thought what a way to save a few bob
Anyway car is sorted now hopefully for a run down to Torquay and Exeter on Tuesday to pick up my new (to me) roof tent. Does anybody know Kris (Woody 32) mob number ? I hope i don't need it but good to have it The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.

Installed a Brodit phone holder, took 10 minutes. Since I have LHD I used 853573 as the base and 511667 for the iPhone 6 Plus. Looks like a most excellent addition to the car and I cannot understand how I didn't know about them before I stumbled on the brand here on the forums. Now I'm getting one for the Volvo, too.

I've had my D3 for over three years now and my early morning winter drives have never been a pleasure - always cold but great to be sitting in my heated seats - although a bit too hot after a while and needing to turn the control down. The problem has been no FBH working. Anyway to cut a long story (3 years) short I finally got round to buying the loom and VAG. Seeing that we had really brilliant Disco weather coming - freezing temps and snow- I plugged the loom into the fbh loom and the Webasto software started. Went to the menus, tested, three faults cleared and now the heater is working after about 3 or 4 minutes.
Should have done this three years ago!

It’s spring and temperature looks to be above freezing all week
Did a proper wash of the car, waxed it, cleaned doors, sills, mats, rubbery parts. Looks as good as new 8)
Went and changed the cabin air filter (Mann FP2747). Changing it every 6 months is a rather good idea as it was completely dusty/dark and had some parts of leaves on it.
Need to change the engine air filter, oil filter - both also Mann - and oil soon. I’ve thought of using 10000 km as the oil change interval. I got suggested Shell Helix Ultra AF 5W-30, I don’t really have any preference myself on brand.
