Fun day out at the coast (Oregon, US). Day 4 with my new LR4 and loving it.

Wasn't today - but yesterday -- fitted new wheels and tires:
Nitto Terra Grappler 275-55-20 onto Redbourne Dominus 20x9.5 +32 offset

And removed stock siderails and fitted Roversnorth rock sliders.

What lift did you go with and what height. This pic was inspo to buy an LR4 I bought the waitomo grey but with black interior and just ordered the redbourne rims ! Johnson rods 2.5 ? or GAP tool ?

Took mine for its 4th service at 15k miles. I do resent paying £515, but maybe I'm just tight!

Before it went:

Ad-Blue is full
Washer bottle is full
Brakes have new fluid in them 10 days ago
Pads, discs and tyres are all very good.

I know you are going to tell me I am being unreasonable, but apart from oil and filters, there is nothing for them to do! But, as long as they remember to stamp the electronic service book Thumbs Up

there is a guy in Mansfield who is LR accredited and would charge a lot less than main dealer prices and still upload your service onto the OSH

https://www.landroverdiagnostics.org/

he is user name Cradgebank on here but doesn't post on here much

ive used him for coding and my last major service and found him to be excellent. He is a land rover enthusiast through and through and IMO I cant rate him highly enough. Richard is a lovely bloke.

my usual indy even commented on how thorough he was as he had greased the engine undertray bolts and had cleaned the top half the engine for me as it was covered in road dirt. They were replacing the rear suspension arms as Richard was away on holiday.

Shocked Found out the main dealer had left my 'new boots' at 45psi and 38psi on the front (should be 34 standard load) and something similar on the rear (should be 37) - Rolling Eyes

Spent the last two weeks in the Disco on our "Not Florida" holiday! Did 1,214miles in total with an average of 34.1mpg which I was more than happy with! Spent a few days at Arisaig then the log cabins at Strathyre, then Loch Katrine then a night in Edinburgh, then home for 2 days then a night in York then a couple of nights at Alton Towers (for our coaster fix!) and a trip to Meadowhall at Sheffield to finish off the trip home on Sunday. Disco ran great without any issues and had room to spare as there was only the 2 of us and a couple of folding electric bikes and a couple of cases. Would have taken the tin tent for part of the trip but the campsite we normally use although open had decided not to open their showers or toilets so we decided that a self catering log cabin was the way to go on this trip as we did not want to use the caravan "facilities" for anything more than a pee in the middle of the night! Thumbs Up

last weekend I shifted about 1/2 ton of old slabs and concrete to the tip along with other general house clearance waste, although I had to do it in 2 trips due to us not being able to reach the full load bay with the weight of some the rubble.

ended up with all the nooks and crannies being full of soil, small rubble bits, and other bits of Censored but an hour with the handbrush and hoover and it was good as new Very Happy

I really couldn't have done this house move and renovation without this luxury workhorse van aka D4.

the D4 is truly an amazing versatile beast Bow down

had this

replaced (and the 3 others of course Laughing )

I was initially worried about the rust on the parking brake area, but thinking about it I haven't used the epb to stop the car so there won't have been any rubbing of the surface to keep it clean.

the new rears were Ferodo discs and pads and came in standard minimal packaging.

However, front pads came in a presentation box !

I've never heard of the brand but my mechanic got into them through needing some "special" brake parts for his 500+bhp Golf. Says these are their own-brand pads but they manufacture for big-name brands.

Whilst it was there, got him to replace my faintly humming/whirring offside front hub. I know several folks have been caught out changing the wrong hub but I was convinced it was the rhs.

When he checked the wheel for play, there was none at all and he said he thought about calling me to check again I wanted it done but took it off to check properly. Censored it was goosed. I couldn't turn it by hand (albeit I was trying not to get covered in crap) and he said it will turn but in a series of noisy jerks !

I'm now wishing I'd had it done BEFORE doing 1300+ miles to/from Nantes ... probably worth a good couple of mpg !

Bahrain 2016 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 Landmark LE Auto Santorini BlackDiscovery 4

Since picking it up less than 4 weeks ago:
    New rear passenger door actuator
    New battery
Changed all internal lamps to LED
Changed number plate lamps to LED
Changed reversing and rear fog bulbs to LED
New rubber mats throughout + boot
Replaced smashed rear middle seatbelt buckle
    New driver door seal
New genuine wipers front and rear
    New genuine key fob plastics

It's booked in for a load of aircon work - currently waiting on parts.

Now i think i might have a suspension leak as it lowers slightly over the course of 3 days.

Oh yeah - and the interior stinks of perfume as someone appears to have smashed a bottle of it in the glovebox and soaked the user manual. I've binned the manual but the smell has permeated everything Censored

Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

despite all of that. still love it. makes the prado feel agricultural.

Decided that I don't have a suspension leak after all.

Fitted some excellent Wrington Engineering wheel nuts to replace the "swollen" Rolling Eyes original ones.

Now waiting on prospeed underbody protection package to be ready for shipping.
