Diagnostics tools on Amazon... |
|
Hello everyone,
Browsing on Amazon.com for some music, I found this :
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/guide...09-6238230
Thought that might be of interest to some of you guys...
And, no, I don't work for Amazon or one of those companies advertised...
Let us know what you think, ok ?
EDIT : pursuing on that idea (Rainy day, today...), I found those 2 links...
http://www.signonsandiego.com/marketplace/..._doit.html
And
http://www.auterraweb.com/index.html
Being a die-hard Palm user since the Palm Pilot 5000 a few years back, I think I know what I am going to try one day... As I will be leaving my car with SWMBO for the upcoming 6 months, it won't be for now, but when I am back... 8) Georgia On My Mind...

Yeah, have fun with those. I have several friends who have OBD II scanners, including ones supporting the "CAN BUS Protocol". None of them will talk to my LR3. Seems that there is some other protocol the computers are using on there.
On other cars, the scanners are awesome diagnostics tools.

I remember, but can't find the link just now, that one of those (A Palm based one...)was able to talk to LR3...
Anyway, I'll give a try but not in the near future...
Here is the link which states that the LR3 (And I assume the DIII...) is supported...

That seems to deal with Petrol instead of Diesel versions but I can assume that it comes from the fact that the diesel is not sold in the US... Georgia On My Mind...

This looks really interesting, except when I delved into the site, a disclaimer says 'may not work with diesel engines' - has anyone tried this unit on a TDV6?
In the list of supported vehicles it then mentions some diesel models, so I'm hoping ... Why have I never felt this way about a 4WD before?

I won't be able to test it for quite a while... Thus...
But I do think that it should work with the Diesel version as the systems should be workable. At least the one in common with the Petrol LR3 should...
Now, maybe asking the website for a test demo might work ? I don't know. But the opportunity should be left open and maybe by referencing the company to that website they could be interested the same way Turbochips or others have been... Georgia On My Mind...
