Delivery valve hitachi compressor

Evening, I’m new to the forum but have been following for a few weeks now, a lot of helpful information. I’m currently rebuilding my compressor , hitachi one….I tried to get into the delivery valve to check it and replace it most likely. When I tried to undo the nut, it turned about a third of a turn and went tight, then wouldn’t tighten up either. Any tips how to get it undone so I can replace it. Thanks

Sorry - too late to this now as you have resolved but I have just rebuilt my Hitachi compressor too.

I had a few bits go like this and what I found worked was to turn gently, add some penetrating fluid, gently turn back and forth adding more fluid as appropriate and eventually it would turn more and more until you could get a full turn and release the fitting completely. It worked for me - key thing was to avoid what i would normally do and wrench it round and rip the threads!
