From defender to discovery 3
So, I have now sold my 110 and purchased a 2007 discovery 3 GS.
It is over all in good condition requiring what I consider to be general wants and need.
I do have a few issues to fix sooner rather than later.
1. Timing belts are (just) overdue so part ordered and will be fitted along with a new water pump, oil pump, tensioner, aux belt and an oil/ fuel service
2. Right hand rear height sensor fault- full set of height sensors ordered.
3. Hdc fault flagging up. Shows low fuel pressure. Filter and injector cleaner first and go from there.
4. Centre info display built in the speedo cluster does not work. New set of clocks supplied - need to look into what is required to swap these over ?
5. AC had no gas. Need to investigate.
Then in the near future, lower arms etc.
I have an IID TOOL and a workshop to carry out my work.
So hi everyone
I am sure I will be here quite often.

Good luck, sounds like you know what your doing for the most part, but the clocks can be a PITA as they need to be re-programmed or the chips swapped over (or something like that). Plenty of previous threads on here about that.
Just remember that if there's no pictures it didn't happen I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Thanks mate.
The clocks are not an urgent job but will be nice if it worked properly.
I will take pics as I go along with invoices for proof

Seems like you got a good deal there! The extras are worth more than the car ! (just kidding) My D3 was the same colour with a lot of those bits on it but bigger wheels as I did the V8 brake upgrade. A sound choice
Are you thinking of going off road ?I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Hello Dave,
Like the look of your D3. Hope you sort the niggles, I know how it is!
As you know, I used to be in your part of the world, lots of good green lanes to be had if they haven't all been closed. Is 40 foot still open up by Santa Pod? Have you tried any deep fords in the D3, like Violets Lane or Standon? Just curious if D3's swim well. My old RRC was great in deep water.
Anyway, good luck with it

Hi Kev,
thanks mate.
a lot of the previous lanes have now been shut due to miss-use. I am fairly sure santa pods lane has now been shut, as has the putteridgebury lane & Woburn lane
I have only had the D3 ( Denis 2) for a week so yet to get him dirty
my 110 was good in all types of off road so It should be interesting in seeing how Denis 2 copes

Great looking motor, perfect colour and very jealous of the add ons that came with it. Been slowly upgrading mine (coincidently, also Dennis) to get where yours already is enjoy it!

Hi Dave,
Sad to hear lanes have been shut but I suppose it was only a matter of time. It is such a shame that a small minority of people ruin it for the majority but this then snowballs because the remaining rights of way are used more and more and this is then flagged as damage and more lanes close. I get quite annoyed by it.
Maybe you should chat to Jai and get in to trialling!
