Death of my disk 3

Hello everyone! today to death my discovery 3 after having done the complete service of change of oil pump, water pump and belts, brakes and transmission. It was handled normally and suddenly it went off in the middle of the street and it did not turn on again ... I do not know what could have happened ... I did not feel any strange noise in the engine after trying for a long time the battery died! Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

If you had just had it serviced and the belts done how was they done. This is assuming you mean the cam belt and oil pump belt.

Reason I ask is some people do them without removing body and do them down back of engine by removing a few trim pieces. It’s very tight and there’s a plastic fuel fitting down there that’s prone to snapping. Also I’m sure if the oil pump belt fails the engine will just cut out.

most likely when belt was done they did not change the oil pump (old model) and tensioner broke. if you are lucky change heads and all will be fine.
second point to look is if they changed the fuel pump belt (back of engine). if wasn't done properly most likely is out of place. thats a relatively easy fix.

it would be an odd total engine failure that didn't make a noise beforehand.

fuel not getting through would be my guess ... given battery was good enough to try starting for a while.

does sound like it could be an easy fix of the rear belt.

Get the garage who did the work to take a look.
It could be their fault. or they could feel guilty.

Was the engine turning over when you were trying to start it?

Might be worth checking whether or not it is still possible to turn over the engine by hand (ie with a socket) as that would at least rule out a potential seizure which seems to be what some others are thinking.

One item which has not been mentioned is whether or not the oil filter was correctly fitted. I don't know what the symptoms would be prior to failure arising from this, but imaging that increasing resistance to turning might be one of them. Might be worth you/garage checking that filter was installed correctly?

Thereafter I think I'd be charging up the battery/fitting a replacement, get codes read and take it from there. Good luck.

Take off the oil filler cap and check that the camshaft turns whilst turning the crankshaft pulley. But if a garage did the work, I suggest you hand over the responsibility to them. Thumbs Up

Was the new oil pump primed with oil? During replacement?

Hopefully it will be something simple like a fuel issue that’s a simple fix. 🤞
