Why do dealers lie........
I went to see an 'immaculate' 55 plate 'S' this morning. I did a 55 mile round trip and when I got to see it what a piece of crap.......bald tyres so I couldn't even drive it - shabby interior and loads of scratches - dealer said "listen mate it's a 2nd hand car" at that point my wife stepped in and we left.....
WHY DO DEALERS LIE ??D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Its a bit like "how can you tell when a politician lies ... his lips move"
Try contacting a trustworthy dealer like the site sponsors .. Lakeland.
Your D2 looks great with the RRS alloys Long succession of Disco's since 2001...
SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!

It was an independant dealer that generally do high end BMW or Merc and had the TDV6 in as a PX for a 730d. It gets better, he offered me £9k and said that "no one wants old discovery's nowadays" - it was excellent timing and 15 years of happiness together that Becky stepped in when she did D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

....in the end I got better service and a better price from a main dealer than all the independants I tried (not saying a I didn't get good service from some independants)........
plus it is still a complicated car, easier to argue witha dealer end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

Stratstone Landrover Newport.
1st Problem.
Finance figure quoted was 3.95%. Documents turned up 8.1%APR . Questioned dealer he was quoting a 'Flat Rate'. This is sharp practice note if you are ever quoted a flat rate double it it is used so they appear cheaper.
Quote from AA Website
"Flat rate The monthly interest rate charged. Watch out for flat rates being quoted instead of APRs. The flat rate does not reflect the true cost of the loan and it's usually around half the APR, so it sounds cheaper."
2nd Problem.
Key for the tow bar not there. So car has to go back for them to sort.
3rd Problem.
Side rubbing strip lifted inside two weeks, cant open door as rubbing strip hits other door.

I ain't gonna name the dealer as I made some pretty strong, yet random, threats as I left I bought my other disco's through main dealers and so I think this is best option. Going to Guy Salmon at Stockport tomorrow and will have a look at Kutsford also.
Have seen a "bought in germany by a UK serviceman - full UK spec" car on the net - it's a 55 plate SE at £29k - is this worth a look ???
