Hi guys, ive not posted for a while, Busy with life etc
I have a D4 commercial that ive had from new, its ready for its 6th service (£495 from dealers) so my question is, do I stick with the full dealer service history or save a few quid and go to me local Landrover specialist..... I do intend to carry on with the Landrover extended warranty
Thoughts please, any input would be gratefully received

having just had the 3+ £495 service done i would suggest going to your local specialist unless the terms of the extended warranty state you must use a main dealer. (which i find unlikely)
the only reason(s) i went to dealer and paid the slightly higher costs against an indy garage were convenience (logistics) and getting any software updates and the codes read & cleared. Apparently though they dont read the codes on the 3+ service scheme so that was a waste of time.

^^^^^ This.
Evenm if you tecnically keep to the warranty conditions when you use an indy, you will lose any and all goodwill.
On the basis that you rely on goodwill for the crank issue from LR, in your shoes I would use the dealer.
I never use a dealer, always indys and buy a decent aftermarket warranty.

Thanks for your thoughts, taken on board but think I'll stay and keep the full dealer history and hope that i'll see any good will etc if the worst happens

Hi,
When we sold our 10 year old D3 to a LR dealer for a near new D4 they weren't interested in who had done the servicing, only that it had been done.
Ours was a mix of dealership - first 5 years, and then indie for next 5 years.
Used LR extended warranty and then WD when older......
Will probably use indie for servicing on D4 going forward (year 4 on-wards) .....
Thanks.

For what it's worth I have the scheduled services done by a LF Franchisee and any other work by a good Indy, in my case West 4x4, who also do a mid-service oil & filter change.
