Dealer says I don't have heated rear seats!
Well I book our 2 year old TDV6 S into Stratstone to have its service tomorrow.
Yesterday a salesman rings me asking if I want to change it now as its 2 years old! I explained my wife had managed 9k miles in 2 years so I don't think I'll be changing it any time soon.
Today the service guy calls to explain that the reason the rear seat heating does not work is because our car doesn't have it!
I explained that when they had it 3 months ago to replace the front seat covers that had rucked up it returned without the rear heated seats working!
He patiently explained that our car does not have heated rear seats.
I asked him what the 2 buttons were for in the rear that have lights on when you USED to press them? I then went on to say that your ass got hot when the lights were lit on said buttons and cold when the lights were off!
He checked the registration of our Jan 2006 S model and read out the spec which did not include rear heated seats.
I proceeded to bet him £5000 that it had rear heated seats until they broke them.
He said "well we will see tomorrow"
I'm going to pay these muppets £375 to service our car!!!!
God help us! 2006 TDV6 S Auto, Buckingham Blue, for the wife and kids.

And he believed it. Has he not heard of the Land Rover Fairy that bestows extra gifts onto cars from time to time. Next he will say there is no Santa Claus

I used to have an 05 'S' and its had heated 1st and 2nd row seats.
Tell them to stop reading the spec sheets and fix the damn things. LR would not fit buttons if the heaters were not fitted.

Tell the service guy
1) He's an idiot!
2) They should have them (and you know they do have them)
and
3) If they don't have them, get them fitted under warranty as they are part of that vehicle's spec!!!
I assume he doesn't realise that as there are swtches, they should be connected to something, unless the car was made on Three Mile Island! I had my D3 delivered with no heating element in one of the frnt seat swabs, only sorted when they replaced the rucced covers.
I've also got a 2yr old S and y rear heated seats work perfectly.
I used to have an 05 'S' and its had heated 1st and 2nd row seats.
Same here New SE only has them in the front but I only sit in the front
If you've got the buttons and they were working I reckon there's not much could go wrong with them other than a blown fuse or someone unplugging them under the seatsThe End

Solihull Stratstone aren't any better IMHO
Parts Manager - (Dave) "LR don't do a raised air intake for the Discovery 3"
Me " Look at page 22 of the accessories brochure"
Parts Manager - "Oh yah, well you learn something new everyday"
Me - "thanks - i'll go somewhere else"
Guy Salmon Coventry - whilst owned by Stratstones - are a good deal better...

And happily it would also make an excellent clue stick to hit him with. Your only trouble would be working out from whence the hollow 'thud' emanated.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
