Many moons ago Stratstones did a health check on mine. All rubbish and none of it needed doing. I would ask for the evidence and take it from there. Or get a good indie to check it over. JLR seem to try and dodge helping owners with warranty issues / known faults so the good will you may have had by having a full JLR work / service history is pretty meaningless. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Our PLI does not cover us for fitting customer supplied parts, and I know many other garages who are in the same position...
My local place is quite happy to fit and guarantee bits he sources but says it's a ball-ache when something fails he didn't source and customer is middleman dealing with parts supplier. He also points out his discount with suppliers often means getting parts through him is no dearer than getting them yourself. .
