My brother in law picked up his brand new D4 HSE on saturday and we picked up our 2010 D4 HSE
The main difference I was expecting externally was for his to have DRL's but he hasn't
Anyone know why ?

Dealer Fit Option, when I ordered my new one back in March I enquired then. They are also, according to the dealer, a bit of a pig to fit!
I spend a fair bit of time in Europe and in the Czech Republic DRL's are compulsory and the LED lights on an HSE have been deemed OK on the 3 spot checks I have had, but it is a to remember to turn them on every time so DRLs would be better for me.
I'd have a word with TLO and get a price of him.

Thanks for the reply, I just thought that it was now law for all new cars to have them.

I'm pretty sure it is law for all newly released models after 2011 however, the D4 was designed and released before then so by law it doesn't need to have them enabled. If you find somebody with a Faultmate MSV (Wiggs etc) they can enable your vehicle so that the dipped beam or driving lights (I think) are used as DRL's. As Bogblaster mentioned Land Rover have brought out an after market LED Drl's solution but they are very expensive. By the way if you have the led signature fairy lights in your headlamps they are not and cannot be enabled to be DRL's Cheers Ian

LR sell DRLs an accessory kit. See TOPIX: http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/co...;id=170305
See pics in my gallery.
The official fitting time quoted on the instructions by LR is 1.5hrs (just look at the complexity of the instructions - simply ridiculous!). However, LR Official Dealers should honour this fitting time/labour charge. My dealer said it took them 16 hrs but they charged me the equivalent of 1.5 hrs
