Yes - Craig and Rob very kindly let me test drive both their motors. As you say the rides were a little curtailed, and most of it was through speed-humped Tong Village.
I drive an auto; Craig's is manual and Rob's auto. It's only 6 weeks since I stopped driving the manual Subaru Legacy (3.0 - awesome torque at 5,500 r.p.m. - makes for exciting caravanning...) so I don't think I've lost the ability to drive a manual gearbox..
The real test was the open road after Tong village, turning round and coming back up the hill. Allowing for traffic getting in the way, and trying to avoid the torque converter fooling me, I felt pretty sure Rob's had more oomph which would translate into better 30-50 or 40-60 pick-ups. There is certainly a difference above the standard in both (and I did run out of traffic-free tarmac in Craig's) - but I am far from having made up my mind...
One wise comment (I can't remember from whom) was that there was so little difference between the top 3, that it came down to supplier / contact response time / distance. That, because of the need to re-program if the dealer should overwrite it.
