Chaps
for those with a dashcam fitted where are you picking up 12v power? - I will be refitting my Blackvue and this has the cigarette type power plug on the end. I can only see one socket in the front for this and that would mean having loose cables around the center console. I dont mind chopping this plug off and connecting into a 12v ignition switched feed - if so from where?

I’m sure there was a load about the same thing on here a few days ago Al  -------------------------------------------------
if you cant hold on dont let go , it ill come in handy for something even if you never use it.

I did a search and didnt see anything for the D5 - might be me age and eyesight, happy to be pointed in the right direction

The D5 is the one without the dedicated supply for the dash cam - unlike the D3 & D4

I went into a permanent live on the fuse board and used one of these below, much easier than chopping cables and it has a mini usb plug that goes straight into the camera. My cam goes into park mode and it records in time lapse mode but uses minimal voltage when ignition is off, this can be changed in settings. I used this in conjunction with a piggy back fuse, can’t remember what fuse it was but think it was tow bar as I don’t have one
