Dash power issue - Any help welcome please |
|
Just noticed the last 3-4 days of driving my 08 d3 that 2-3 minutes after driving first thing, that the dash loses all power for a second but the car loses no power at all???
What can be causing this?
New battery this time last year and brake switch replaced at the same time also.
Of course we are heading away to Spain for a month in a few weeks with the TinTent so I need to get this sorted before we go. A Man Can Never Have Too Many Land Rovers

By 'dash', do you mean the central instrument cluster (speedo, rev counter, LCD screen between them)? If so, it seems to be a fairly common problem - I'm in the process of trying to sort out the same issue on mine, and there are several posts elsewhere on this forum with recommendations for places to try.
On that note, if anyone can recommend anywhere within a couple of hours' drive of Chester which offers a drive-in service (rather than removing the cluster and sending it in), please post here!! Thanks.

yes gareth71, I meant the central instrument cluster (speedo, rev counter, LCD screen)
Im in Ireland so I am not driving back to the uk to get it fixed https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/images/smiles/icon_rolling.gif
I am not getting any faults up on the info screen.
I did have a new compressor fitted 2 months ago though.
I can see similar problems here but each one seems different to mine.

I've seen a few recommendations for Totaltronics - more than for any other instrument cluster repair service, certainly. Rugby and back would be do-able in a day (or might combine it with a trip to London in a couple of weeks).
Anyone know of anywhere a bit closer to Chester or north-east Wales, though?

I always use Actronics in Colchester and find them honest and reliable.

I think you must have your map upside down! Colchester is about twice as far away as Rugby . But hopefully someone a bit nearer to Essex will find that useful.

Thanks for the suggestion - but if I was going to send it by post location wouldn't matter. I'm looking for a same-day turnaround, so distance is a factor.

I did look at same day thing but the wait was a couple of weeks sent if off the guy told me he had received my dash at about 6 pm then pictures of it repaired on test before 10 pm so only about a three day turn around. Welsh Collie Chauffeur Service To Barney & Rooney.
