Been a member for a while now but first post. I have to say this site is great for telling the dealers what they should already know. Really enjoy my D3, great car. I am taking it in to the dealer for some warranty work on 11th April and wondered if anyone had come across a couple of issues that I have which might help the dealer resolve the issues without 7 trips!
Firstly, if my headlight switch is set to Auto the dashboard lights come on. If you then turn the switch to "on" rather than "auto" the whole of the dashboard lights go out - not great if you want to use the fog lights in the dark.
Secondly, on a long trip either side of the central plastic console gets very hot - as if the air is directed here rather than the floor.
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks

Paul - can't answer the auto headlight issue - mine doesn't have this
As for the centre console, it may well be possible that on the track it wasn't assembled properly. I have an issue at the moment whereby a local dealership whilst fixing a problematic hazard warning switch have managed to disconnect the pipe that directs airflow to the central circular chest level air vents. It's going for a service in 2 weeks time (a different dealership) so i'll get them to fix that then (as well as the wing mirror )
It's a trip to the dealership i think to fix your probs

Thanks Rogue
Probably something not connected properly - did your front chest vents constantly blow air (before the dealer broke it! ) as mine seem to be intermittent even after the heating system update.
I will see what dealer comes up with after dealing with all the TSB's I have also given to them for fixing. They have booked it in for three days Well I might as well get it done whilst the car is in warranty as I am aiming to keep for a while.

Everything was hunky dory until it went into the dealers...
But TBH i don't leave mine on auto, i just have the fan switch on 1 and the temperature upto how hot/cold the missus is feeling
You might also want to get them to check out whether TSB No LA412-003 has been done at the same time. Mines being done when it goes for service.
Good luck!

Thanks - that TSB is already on the list - Will post an update with solution if dealer fixes either problem.
Shame wives cannot be fixed under warranty claims

Well I can eventually post an update to the saga of no interior lights when the light switch is in any positon other than auto. The car has been in twice since the original post. They first simply replaced the switch - it surprised them when this did not work. They have informed me that there is now a service bullet relating to water ingress into the wiring loom. This has caused a number of the wires to corrode and has lead to the problem. The fix - replace the entire wiring loom The car has been in all this week and should be back tomorrow. I am glad that is covered by the warranty! The moral of the story - get small jobs fixed early before your warranty expires My only worry is now how many other problems/sqeaks I am going to have with them taking out the complete dash board and fiddling with the electrics.
