Dash died on the move

Hi.

Our D3 dash died today, all turned off, no speedo nothing whilst driving along.
Mechanically fine all lights etc working just no dash. Few mins later it came back on apart from the digi display.
Any ideas?

Yep got the same problem. All started, for me, when I hit a huge pot hole.
Driving along dash goes dead then comes back. Sometimes happens when ignition is turned off and then turned on again, very random. Had this for a couple of months now and during this time I've put a new battery earth clamp on, would suggest you check yours, taken the clocks out and sprayed with contact cleaner as well as the plugs at the rear of the battery.
Made no difference. 99% sure I have an issue with the cluster ( possible dry joint) as when you bash on the dash or the front of the clocks they go dead, only sometimes though.
Still undecided wether to send the cluster to a repair company cost approx £150 / £200, due to mixed reviews. Or buy new, after getting it confirmed, and have it fitted and re-programmed. Cost of this is around £750 + fitting Big Cry Big Cry
Hope this gives you an idea. I've no idea what I am doing really and have gone as far as I can with this. Search "instrument cluster" on hear there is loads of info.
Good luck with it.
Rob.

I had this problem sent to Totaltronics waiting for it to come back tomorrow and then refit. Not to difficult to remove under £250 to repair including postage both ways.
