Dash cam - hard wiring help
Hi all
Thinking of buying a Nextbase 512 and would like to hard wire using the Nextbase kit. I know a certain high street chain will do this for a small fee but I would prefer to do it myself.
2 questions
Which fuse should I wire this to - prefer to use one that isolates with the ignition?
What is the easiest and best route to run the cable, out of sight, to the cam in front of the rear view mirror?
Help from the collective knowledge greatly appreciated
ThanksClub RLD spare wheel protection
Club RLD skid plate
Club its all black
Club D3 - it's gone
Club D4 - just arrived and still all black

I hard wired in a Thinkware camera. I’ll have to look to se witch fuses I piggybacked off but there is plenty of info on here if you search. I don’t know if the fuse layout is the same for a D3 and a D4.
Route for the wires... I just tucked it in down the passengers side around by the windscreen it took all of 20 or 30 seconds. Some people take off the A pillar trim but I just tucked it it and then wedged it in out of view to get it down to beside behind the glovebox. No tools required to run the cable and I stuffed some of the spare cable into the headlining by the mirror. Total probably a minute to run the cable and it can’t be seen at all

Just spent an age trying to get a feed for a NextBase dash cam. It needed a switched ignition live (it runs on internal battery when in park mode) but struggled to get the piggyback fuse holder into the cigar lighter fuse, physically wouldn't go near relay 1. Ended up using fuse 28, switched ignition to underbonet fuse box. Richard
